Dr Shein's current project is focused on overcoming hepatotoxicity of anti-CD137 antibody treatment. The goal of this research project is to uncouple the anti-tumor potency and immune-mediated side effects of aCD137 agonists. We investigate the mechanism of antigen-independent expansion of effector CD8+ T cells and their role in the immunopathology.
