Dr. Essner graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1999. He practiced general dentistry for nine years prior to returning to endodontic residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham. After graduating from UAB with a certificate in endodontics, Dr. Essner and his family moved back to Omaha, NE where he had a practice limited to endodontics. In 2015, Dr. Essner joined the faculty at Creighton University School of Dentistry where he is now a full-time assistant professor and chair of endodontics. Dr. Essner and his wife, Traci, have two beautiful children, Meghan and Cole, who are a sophomore and junior respectively at Skutt Catholic High School. In his free time, Dr. Essner enjoys spending time with his family and following the Creighton Men's Soccer team where his son, Cole, recently committed to play.
