Dr. Altitinchi is from Mosul, Iraq. He received his bachelor’s
degree in dental surgery, and his master’s degree in operative
dentistry and endodontics from the University of Mosul. Upon
completion, he taught restorative dentistry and endodontics for
two years at the same school before moving to the United
States to pursue a research degree in oral and craniofacial
biomedicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
leading to a PhD degree. His current research project is
focused on looking at the antimicrobial properties of essential
oils and their potential applications in endodontics
