NV-3 - Hospital Based Endodontics: Opportunities for Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Increased Access to Care

Hospital based dentistry is an opportunity to provide care for those patients on Medicaid/Medicare, those who require sedation dentistry and also those with special health care needs. Hospital based dentistry is often conducted via a training program. However, some dentists may be able to provide care within a hospital setting outside the framework of a dental residency. It is important for endodontists to understand how dental care within a hospital may be similar or different to clinical practice in a private practice setting. The goal of this session is to help educate the endodontist on how to incorporate hospital based care into their practice so as to increase access to endodontic care for these special populations.
