Dr. Elisa Arnarsdottir was born and raised in Iceland. After she graduated junior collage, Dr. Arnarsdottir pursued her interest in dentistry. In 2011, she completed her Cand. Odont. Degree (D.D.S.) from the University of Iceland Faculty of Dentistry. After five years of private practice in Akureyri, Iceland, she discovered her passion for endodontics. Dr. Arnarsdottir moved with her family to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she earned her certificate in endodontics and Master of Science degree in 2019 from the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry, becoming the first ever Icelandic female endodontist. Since her graduation, Dr. Arnarsdottir has been working in private practice in the Reykjavik capital area and in Akureyri, Iceland. In 2021, she established her own private practice in Kopavogur, Iceland, which is now run-in conjunction with her college, Dr. Heimisdottir. In 2020, Dr. Arnarsdottir became the first Icelandic female diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Since graduation, Dr. Arnarsdottir has been an adjunct faculty at UNC Adams School of Dentistry. Since 2022, she has been overseeing the undergraduate endodontic program at the University of Iceland Faculty of Dentistry along with her college, Dr. Heimisdottir. Dr. Arnarsdottir is committed to service and has done dental mission work in underdeveloped countries.
