This session will discuss the AAE and ESE guidelines for clinicians for vital pulp therapy focusing on the material properties. The microscopic changed in the dentine caused by the various disease processes and the clinical procedures will be assessed and the changes after application of materials will be investigated.

Learning Objectives:

Explain the changes to the dentine as a result of the clinical procedures.
Identify the differences in management of dental care and the evidence for the methodologies of managing the vital pulp.
Describe the properties of materials used for vital pulp therapy and the interactions of the materials with the dentine and overlying restoration.
