(TC09) Revascularization of Mature and Immature Teeth Using Concentrated Growth Factor

Abstract: This presentation aims to discuss the effectiveness of revascularization procedures using Concentrated Growth Factor (CGF) for both mature and immature teeth. Revascularization was performed on ten mature teeth and five immature teeth, following identical clinical protocols. Guided by the American Endodontic Society's recommendations, the procedure began after isolation and access cavity preparation, with the determination of root canal length. Tissue remnants were removed, and roots were irrigated with 2.5% NaOCl and 17% EDTA. Calcium hydroxide (CH) served as a medicament for four weeks. During the second visit, CH was removed, canals were irrigated with EDTA and saline, and consistent apical bleeding was induced. CGF from the patient's venous blood was placed into the root canal space, and 2-3 mm of biomaterial was applied directly to the CGF. The coronal part was sealed with glass ionomer cement (GIC). After one month, the cavity was restored with composite resin. Follow-up visits were scheduled every three months for 24 months, conducting clinical and radiological examinations. During recall visits, all treated teeth were functional and asymptomatic. Radiological examinations revealed healing of apical lesions. Revascularization offers significant benefits for both mature and immature teeth, providing predictable and user-friendly tertiary healing compared to traditional methods. The use of CGF has proven highly effective in promoting tissue regeneration and periapical healing, contributing to overall clinical success in both tooth types.
